Recently, just before the festive season, IHP reached out to express their gratitude for Alloga's exceptional support and shared a recap of the assistance provided throughout the year. Since 2012, Alloga UK has been supporting IHP by offering its facilities and dedicating team members' time to emergency and disaster appeals instead of monetary contributions. This collaboration is crucial in enabling IHP to distribute medicines to those who require them urgently.
In 2023 alone, Alloga assisted IHP in dispatching an impressive total of 180 Essential Health Packs (EHPs). These EHPs are specialized kits containing essential medicines designed to provide life-saving treatments to patients in challenging locations worldwide, including regions facing ongoing crises such as parts of Ethiopia.
The impact of these shipments extended far and wide, aiding responses to conflicts in Ukraine and humanitarian emergencies in countries like Haiti, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), among others.
One poignant example demonstrates the difference made by EHPs: a 12-year-old girl named Ifrah from Ethiopia received timely treatment for measles using antibiotics donated by IHP from one of the EHP shipments. Her swift recovery without complications highlights the critical role these essential medicines play in healthcare interventions.
Colleen Harrisson-Dodds, Director of Logistics and Systems at IHP expressed her gratitude stating: "Our partnership with Alloga has been integral to getting medicines to people who need them most. Thank you for all your help that makes this possible."
Alloga remains committed to providing support that positively impacts global healthcare efforts and will continue working closely with organizations like IHP to make a meaningful difference in communities around the world.
